This is a three-day seminar specially designed for local governments of provinces, cities and municipalities with high concentration of migrants. It discusses the processes and strategies in implementing programs and services for migrants and their families. It includes study missions to local government units which have mainstreamed migration and development in their plans and governance.

Seminar Objectives

  At the end of the seminar, the participants will be able to:

  1. Enumerate the approaches in mainstreaming migration in local governance;
  2. Identify the pillars in engaging local chief executives and legislative officers in mainstreaming migration and development; and
  3. Illustrate how to set up a One Stop Migration Resource Center and form a Migration and Development Committee

 Target Participants

 The seminar is designed for the following participants:

  1. Provincial, city and municipal government officials
  2. Heads or key personnel of various agencies, departments and offices of provincial, city and municipal governments
  3. Members of Migration and Development Councils/Committees
  4. Heads and personnel of Migration Resource Centers
  5. Focal persons of LGUs on Migration and Development or OFW Concerns
  6. Officers of associations of families of overseas Filipinos and organizations of migrant returnees
  7. Interested representatives of agencies and institutions in the academe, NGO, church, and business communities
